Kevin P. Nett, Esq.
Co Founder and Managing Attorney
Kevin P. Nett is the Co-Founder and Managing Attorney of Nett & Nett, P.C., a professional law corporation established in 2001. For more than 25 years, the firm has provided legal services to more than 4,000 individual and business clients.
The firm focuses on estate planning, wills and trusts, probate administration, business law, real estate, and construction matters, helping clients protect their assets and navigate complex legal and financial decisions.
Real Estate and Market Expertise
In 2006, during the most severe real estate recession in modern U.S. history, Kevin founded Nett-Gross Group, a California real estate brokerage.
During this period of declining property values and mortgage instability, Kevin obtained his California Real Estate Broker’s License and began analyzing real estate and mortgage banking transactions at an institutional level. This work allowed him to help clients understand and navigate their legal and financial options during one of the most challenging market environments in decades.
The combined perspective of real estate attorney and licensed real estate broker is rare and provides clients with both legal insight and practical market knowledge.
Construction and Development Experience
In 2008, Kevin expanded his professional experience further by obtaining a California Class B General Contractor’s License and founding Aven Construction, Inc.
Through this company, Kevin oversaw construction administration, project finance, and management for development projects, including work involving institutional developers such as Sares-Regis and I & G Direct.
Today, this construction experience informs his work in real estate, valuation, and probate matters.
Mortgage Banking Experience
In 2013, Kevin obtained both federal and state Mortgage Loan Originator licenses, completing what he describes as a professional trifecta:
• Law
• Real Estate Brokerage
• Mortgage Banking
This experience provided a comprehensive understanding of banking operations, underwriting practices, and real estate finance.
After market conditions stabilized, Kevin sold his interest in NGG Financial to his brother, Jeff M. Nett, MBA (Pepperdine), who currently serves as CEO.
Probate Referee Appointment
In 2022, Kevin was appointed by the California State Controller as a Probate Referee for the Riverside County Superior Court.
Probate Referees are officers of the court responsible for providing court-mandated valuations in probate, conservatorship, guardianship, and related proceedings.
Under Probate Code §16247, referees may also provide valuations in non-probate trust matters, helping trustees avoid conflicts of interest and valuation liability.
Kevin also serves as a Board Member of the California Probate Referees Association, representing more than 120 referees serving all 58 California counties.
Additional Professional Certifications
Kevin holds several advanced credentials, including designation as a:
Certified Probate & Trust Specialist
California Association of Realtors
This certification reflects additional specialization in probate, trust, and fiduciary-related real estate matters.
Education
Kevin earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.
During law school he served as:
• Chief Legal Intern — Federal Communications Commission, International Bureau for Satellite and Rasio Communications
• Legal Intern — Titan Wireless
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (with Distinction) Pi Sigma Alpha and a minor in Philosophy (Ethics) from San Diego State University.
